Mary Baker Industry Achievement Award

ASME Unit: Design Engineering Division (DED)

Achievement: Presented to an industry or government practitioner or researcher who accomplishes at least one of the following in the areas of vibration, sound/acoustics, shock, or dynamics:
  1. A singular industry innovation
  2. A lifetime of industry-relevant achievements
  3. Impactful engagement and improvement across industry, government, and academic domains
Limitations: Candidates must:
  • At the time of awarding, have 10 or more years of experience in industry and/or government as a practitioner and/or researcher
  • Generate a publicly-releasable keynote lecture and travel to the International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC) for presentation
  • Cover travel expenses beyond the stipend allotment
Nomination Deadline: 1 February on the year of the award
Form of Award: Plaque, invitation to give a keynote lecture at the IDETC Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, honorarium ($1000), conference travel stipend ($1500), and waiver of IDETC registration fees.

Selected By: Selected by the DED Honors and Awards Committee based on TCVS vote.
Selecting Process:

Nomination packages should include a letter of nomination, strictly three letters of support, and the nominee’s curriculum vitae. At least two letters of support must be from industry or government organizations. All nomination packages must be submitted electronically in a single PDF file.
